Inability of the brain to retain messages for a long time has been a major problem for students. It's very frustrating for a student to take out time, read for a while and forget in a twinkle of an eye. This has made most students question, doubt and limit their capabilities. It also has increased inferiority complex among people that have experienced it and it's breeding alot of discouragement and disappointment among students.  There are major causes of short term memory ranging from I.Q to reading culture.

Engagements students can earn from while awaiting resumption

It's no longer new that school isn't resuming soon since the federal government has been unable to ascertain the demands of ASUU and ASUU on its side isn't ready to settle for anything less. The battle for resumption is still ongoing and resumption of academic activities won't be successful if both parties don't come to a definite agreement. Students being the most negatively affected have little or no part to play in resolving the issue. In the absence of academic activities,it's not ideal for a student to just sit and await resumption without doing something that can generate income. It's advisable to find something meaningful to do and also hope for better news concerning resumption. Since lockdown has been lifted in almost all parts of the nation and movement has been eased, it'll be more advisable for them to engage themselves with  meaningful things to do and earn from them rather than wasting time.   Skill acquisition: The need for skill acquisit

Need for skill acquisition

Skill acquisition is the act of using the intellectual mind to acquire the ability of creativity in a respective field. Skill acquisition has shown its importance in this generation since unemployment and low income rate is prevailing. The world economy is depreciating drastically and it's also getting difficult to get a job that  pays well, on the other hand it's also getting difficult for employers to pay all their employees. In such a situation they'll be left with no other choice than to reduce the number of workers they have by sacking them, then multitask the rest. This also comes with low salaries and stressful working hours. It's proving difficult for someone in such a situation to get a standard living. At the same time, they can't quit their job because they'll rarely get a better one. Also in the same scenario, the sacked ones won't be earning at all and will rarely succeed with getting a better one.  This is where skill acquisition comes into pl

IPPIS is a foreign platform, says ASUU

The Academic Staff Union of Universities has has rejected the new payment method introduced by the federal government which is meant to be their new payment system as a foreign platform The Chairman of ASUU, University of Port Harcourt branch, Dr Austen Sado, also said it was unthinkable that the personnel data of Nigeria’s workforce was already in the hands of another country. Speaking in an interview with  The PUNCH , Sado explained that rather than embrace the IPPIS, the Federal Government should consider using the University Transparency and Accountability Solution, which he described as an indigenous platform.
