FUTO introduces a new faculty

 The federal university of technology Owerri has introduced a new faculty to suit the digital age.


As earlier published today in their facebook page .. in accordance with the digital age and 21st century requirements, the FUTO management under the watch of their vice chancellor professor Francis chukwuemeka Eze, FNIP is once again recorded a feat.

The aforementioned achievement is connected with the introduction of a new faculty which was done in line with the present realities.

The faculty in question will be known and adressed as school of electrical system engineering technology (SESET).

It'll House the following departments:

- Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE)

- Mechatronics Engineering (MEC)

- Telecommunication engineering

-  computer Engineering

- Electrical power system Engineering

It's note worthy that a Dean has already be appointed  to oversee the helm of affairs of the new school. He’s known by the name prof. Michael C. Ndinechi.

They've congratulated thelmselves and their vice chancellor for putting up this developmental stride  with the demands of the society.

We’re yet to have any meaningful engagement with Federal Government over strike, says ASUU

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has disclosed that it was yet to have any meaningful engagement with the Federal Government since the union embarked on an indefinite strike. The university teachers, had on March 23, 2020, embarked on strike in protest against government’s directive for members to join the integrated payroll and personnel Information System (IPPIS), payroll software mandated for all public officials. The Federal Government had last year directed that all its employees should be enrolled under the IPPIS scheme by December 31 or their salaries would be withheld. The directive did not go down well with ASUU members and they never failed to make it known to their employers. Few days to the deadline, some ASUU members were said to have secretly enrolled on the platform, while some others, especially their leaders, refused to join.
