some student's behaviours that trigger academic failure

 Most students have been the source of their failure. They do so by  exhibiting characters that contribute to their downfall. Most don't even know that these behaviours are the reasons for their breakdown.



This article is meant to highlight some characters and lifestyles nonchalantly exhibited by students that have negative effect on their academics.

- Dressing/immoral dressing: Dressing have a major contribution to academic failure in such a way that most students mostly care about what to wear so that they'll be noticed and be tagged “fashionable” or “sexy”. In order to achieve this, most go to the extent of putting on transparent clothes or ones that exposes sensitive body parts. This result to spending more time in boutiques and cosmetic stores checking out for what to wear, costume to use, jwerries that'll match their outfits.

- keeping unworthy friends: As a student that wish to succeed, most friends are not worth being kept. Bad influence from friends have caused most students to derail from their fundamental purpose. It's best to stay away from friends that don't contribute to one's progress/success plan.

- Drug addiction: This does not just negative effect on academics alone, it also affects the physical, mental and psychological aspects of the student's life. precautions should be taken to avoid drug addiction because it's not easy to be withdrawn from. Drug addiction can give 100% disinterest for academic activities.

- Unnecessary social activities: Activities such as clubbing, prostitution, late night parties, e.t.c can deteriorate academic performance among students that indulge in such act. 

- Unnecessary/unhealthy relationship: most students have deprived themselves of great academic performance by indulging in unnecessary relationship affairs. Most don't have reasons for being in a relationship but the just force themselves into  it just to belong to the trending vibe. Little did most discover that they confused infactuation for love. Taking such relationship serious might result to depression when it collapses.

- Cult/anti-social activities: students that join cultism do so for one reason or another ranging from protection to revenge. It has been a major reason most students perform poorly academically.

Other behaviours that also trigger academic failure including

  • Inability to attend classes
  • Inability to read
  • Laziness
  • Pride
  • Ignorance
  • Nonchalant attitude
  • Unnecessary commitments/engagements
  • Bad health
  • Unseriousness
  • Extravagant life 
  • Environmental factors (lack of proper ventilation, inavailability of study equipments).

BREAKING: Schools to reopen August 4 for final year pupils – FG

The Federal Government has said Secondary schools in the country will reopen on August 4, 2020 for pupils in exit classes to sit for their examination. The government said students will have two weeks to prepare for the West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination organised by the West Africa Examination Council. WAEC exams, the government said will commence on 17th of August, 2020. The government announced the decision at the end of a virtual consultative meeting between the Federal Ministry of Education, Commissioners of Education of the 36 states, the Nigerian Union of Teachers, (NUT), the proprietors of private schools, and Chief Executives of examination bodies.
